Growing Medical Clinic is seeking an energetic individual to join the team as a Billing Specialist. We are looking for a detail oriented individual who will be responsible for primarily billing operations for our office.

Responsibilities of this position include:

• Work collaboratively to review for accuracy, approve and release all charges related to new billing and unbilled revenue.

• Match proper and appropriate documentation, according to payer guidelines, and forward weekly according to policy.

• Obtain and maintain through training and experience detailed knowledge of policies and procedures related to medical reimbursement standards, (i.e.; specific and updated payer requirements and filing limits)

• Research and follow up related to claim problems and concerns

• Enter all new patient account information into system weekly.

• Conduct customer service activities including translation services, telephone response, inter and intra office communication as needed.

• Perform other duties, assignments and/or special projects as may be required to fulfill the accountability objective as outlined above. Including analyzing and reviewing claims statistical reports.

• Receive information from referral sources and verify insurance benefits for medical services. Forwards all information to appropriate parties.

A Medical Billing and collection agency in Merrillville, IN is looking for a FT Accts receivable poster/cash poster to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some experience with medical cash posting.

General Summary:

Under general supervision, processes payments and adjustments received on 3rd Party, Pre-Collect and Bad Debt accounts and applies accordingly. Prepares bank deposits.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Opens daily mail and distributes non payments to proper department. Applies payments received in mail, runs corresponding reports and prepares deposit for bank. Either processes deposit via electronic method or hand delivers deposit to bank.

2) Processes credit card payments and check by phone payments via each respective website. Directs any denied payments back to representative who generated payment. Once all payments have been processed, applies payments to accounts, runs reports and balances transactions.

3) Posts all direct payments received by client. Run posting reports and balance to client’s totals.

4) Processes NSF transactions and notes account accordingly so that the representatives are aware of the NSF.

5) Enters Deposits, Check by Phone and Credit Card payments on a current month’s log to track and balance payments received for the current month.

6) Follows all HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) rules and regulations.

7) Confers with management on discrepancies within accounts.

Interacts courteously and compassionately with other associates. Approach with patients, visitors, and clients are friendly and professional.

9) Maintains a professional appearance.

10) Projects a positive image in the community.

11) Other duties as assigned.

SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1) Analytical, clerical, and computer skills to review HFM and client software systems and computerized reports to determine balances.

2) Computer skills equivalent to work multiple systems simultaneously.

KNOWLEDGE, PRACTICAL EXPERIENCE AND LICENSURE/REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

1) The level of knowledge equivalent to completion of high school or GED.
