<p>Purpose of Position: </p>

• Effectively troubleshoot issues and resolve problems related to server operating systems (Red Hat Linux, MS Server 200x), core application stacks (IIS, Apache, MSSQL, MySQL, etc.), network infrastructure (switches, firewalls), and various managed services (managed storage, managed data protection) by performing the following duties: </p>
<p>Essential Duties/Responsibilities: </p>
<p>• Resolve tickets as quickly and thoroughly as possible and obtain team assistance when needed.<br />
<br />
• Continue to increase expertise and knowledge about applicable OS systems, related software, server configurations and anything else to support Company products and services.<br />
<br />
• Assist end-users in successfully configuring their network or server environments, troubleshooting and escalating problems related to infrastructure and services.<br />
<br />
• Furnish end-users with configuration information<br />
<br />
• Monitor, resolve, and escalate issues within critical facilities infrastructure (generators, CRAC units, UPS systems). </p>
<p>
Other Duties/Responsibilities: </p>
<p>• Improving policies and procedures within the support organization.<br />
<br />
• Documenting changes to existing environments or creating new documentation for new deployments.<br />
<br />
• Assiting customers with installatin of network cabling and/or racking of data center equipment</p>

<p>Primary function for the Help Desk candidate is to answer calls arriving at the Support Center and to accurately identify, prioritize and log the service requests within the established standards. Diagnose problems by asking accurate, concise questions in a professional and timely manner. Accurately prioritize, categorize and log calls, reset network passwords, resolve print queue problems, manage crisis escalation and transfer calls to other support group as appropriate, assist in projects as needed. </p>
<p>Excellent customer service, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; Ability to work in a fast paced changing environment; Understanding of Windows based applications; familiarity with relevant operating systems, the Lotus and Microsoft Suite of products, the Internet and networking; ability to recognize priority issues and escalate accordingly; ability to translate technical terms into non-technical language; understanding of computer terms and acronyms; ability to learn new processes and procedures. </p>
<p>QUALIFICATIONS: </p>
<ul>
<li>Must have VPN, Lotus Notes and/or Microsoft Outlook experience. </p>
<li>Associate degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, and at least one, typically three years experience in IT or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
<li>Requires sufficient knowledge of IT operations, responsibilities, workflow processes, and procedures to resolve most inquires independently.
<li>Good analytical and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively with client and other Systems Division staffs.
<li>Experience using Remedy or another problem management application.
<li>Experience with telephony system is a plus. </ul>
<p>This position is 100% phone work. </p>
