JOB DESCRIPTION

Greet each taxicab as it re-enters the taxi queue at DFW Airport with a pleasant and cooperative attitude. You will be responsible for checking each vehicle in accordance with the City of Dallas Taxicab Inspections Standard Regulations, which include:

* Visually inspecting the exterior and interior of the vehicle to ensure compliance, which includes checking lights, body, trim, interior condition and conformity

* Verifying the identity and licensure of the vehicle operator

* Noting any defects that allow the vehicle to continue to operate and communicating the remedy and time allowed to perform such rememdy to the vehicle operator

* When appropriate, directing the vehicle to a “no load” zone, where a DFW supervisor will advise the driver of required action before returning to active service

REQUIREMENTS

* A clean background check

* A negative drug test

* A proven track record of honesty, integrity, reliability, and oustanding attendance

* A valid Texas driver’s license

* The ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

* The ability to stand for much of the 8-hour shift in an outdoor environment regardless of weather

* The abillity to maintain effective interal and external relationships with people of diverse, cultural, racial, geograpical, and educational backgrounds

* The ability to make independent judgments and apply uniform standards

* The ability to prepare and maintain reports with accuracy

* The ability to pass a trugh verification assessment

* Ideally, experienced in the inspection, rental or repair of automotive vehicles

* As a plus, the ability to speak one or more foreign languages in addition to standard business English

You must be able to:

* Work in and around a commercial vehicle staging facility, including extended periods working outdoors

* Be able to withstand extreme temperatures, inclement weather, noise, vibration, dust, dust, and emissions

* Stand and/or walk for extended periods of time

* Bend, stoop, twist, and crawl around motor vehicles

* Perform simple mathematical computations required to complete reports

* Communicate effectively by telephone, two-way radio, computer, in written form and in person

You will receive training to fully understand the City of Dallas regulations.

We are seeking individuals to:

* Work Monday through Friday 6am to 230pm, or 215pm to 1045pm, or

* Work Saturday and Sunday 6am to 230pm, or 215pm to 1045pm, or

* Be available as a “floater”, working any of the above shifts

Drivers will also receive a $300 per month safety bonus in on the third week of each month – we pay $30 per stop and $15.50 per hour detention pay after 2 hours

Average driver pay for our fleet is $1000 per week

You will drive a Volvo 670 – 13 or 9 speed – 3 years old or newer – trucks are governed at 65 mph. We have APU units on most trucks – Freight is dry van, 80% drop and hook – we have a rider policy and pet policy as well

Most drivers will fly or drive a rent a car to orientation

We are looking for good, experienced drivers. Drivers must meet the following criteria with no exceptions:

1. 8 months of OTR experience within the last 12 months

2. 2 years of OTR within the past 3 years (We consider OTR to be running 10 states and sleeping in the truck five nights per week – we will not count local or line haul experience for this position)

(We do have some positions for drivers with at least 6 months OTR experience within the last year as well)

3. No more than 3 moving violations within the past 36 months and no more than 2 in the past 12 months

4. No major chargeable accidenst within the past 36 months

5. No more than 3 chargeable incidents in the past 36 months and no more than 2 in the past 12 months

6. A combination of 3 incidents/ moving violations in three years total is acceptable – we can’t hire with 4 total incidents/moving violations

7. No careless, reckless, unsafe lane change, following too close, or 15 mph over tickets in the past 3 years

8. No felonies ever

9. No DWI’s in the past 5 years

10. No drug related misdemeanors ever

11. Must have hazmat or be willing to get hazmat in 60 days
